FAQs
What are tinctures?
A traditional form of herbal medicine using alcohol to extract the medicinal constituents of plants. They are concentrated easy to take herbal remedies.
How do you take tinctures?
You drop them right on top of your tongue, holding in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. If the taste is too strong, drop them in a small glass of water to drink. Easy to take with or without food.
How do I store them?
On the counter at room temperature. Place them in a location which reminds you to take them such as the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.
Can I give tinctures to children?
Yes tinctures are safe for kids at a lower dose. Give one drop for every year of how old they are. I recommend dropping the tincture in water to dilute the taste of alcohol.
What is the expiry date?
There is 5 year expiry date on them; however, tinctures are well preserved in alcohol and can last many years.
How much do you take?
The standard dose for tinctures is 20-30 drops 3 x day. You can start small with 5-10 drops if you are sensitive to medicine, then work your way up to 30 drops to find the right dose for you. If you are looking for more of the emotional qualities of plants you can take 1-3 drops.
Are tinctures Gluten Free?
Yes! The alcohol is made form 100% Alberta & Saskatchewan grain and through the distillation process no gluten molecules pass though. Every thing is processed in a sanitary kitchen. Clients with celiac disease use my tinctures.
